AS it turns out, that's exactly what it seems to be. But no fear, they had just started, so we're good for 2-3 years.

I hope it's not a new ERP portal with integrated CRM for self-driving cars, written in Erlang and coffescript by a distributed team. I'm addicted to those as well.

The overall design lacks that "magic touch", for example if you go to support tab, creating a new support ticket requires one to click 'view' icon? Not very natural. Also there is no way to create a new invoice, and yet you are able to see

I don't know about the underlying code, but the design is quite poor - I'm having a hard time using the application since it's a bit messy. And why should someone choose your app? I mean there a hundreds of (open-source) CRM applications, t

Everyone is mad at Yahoo because they have let everyone down. Once a respectable company, they got left behind by other players because their lack of innovation. No web related (especially this big) company should afford to stay behind. And

I didn't expect an article like this appearing on bloomberg. Greg Smith made observations on the culture and all they have to say is that they are not charity?

Sometimes I just feel stupid. Reading this article is one of those times :) Kudos to author though, I think most of mathematicians out there just take math as it is. Lack of entrepreneurial spirit I'd say.

This is just wrong. Making this kind of letter open make MailChimp look like they are doing something wrong by charging for their services. Not to mention their (antispec's) supporters are web celebrities that charge $500+ per day for their

Ah yes, this goes hand in hand with my mantra: a product (be it IT or physical) is only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it.

The main problems with any QA (or discussion board) site is that many newbies just ask instead of searching for the answer a bit. If you ask me every developer-relevant QA site should have a big bold red statement at the top saying "Have yo

Thank you so much for this, I'll forward the link to a couple of developers I work with and I always have to explain how things should be done. The last design I got was in pdf! :S

Since this is a startup community i'd say two things: - Set yourself a goal (a small project) and try to code it in whatever suits you best, do a brief comparison and start learning by doing. Tool/language doesn't really matter, everyone wi

"foofy" margins actually have a purpose - to improve legibility. Something that HN is in desparate need of.

Totally agree - but I still think some amount of sacrifice is necessary at the beginning, when you finish your education and start with 0 (if you're lucky, some have student loans). Unless you have wealthy parents that is.

Yes, but the problem is that most of developers underestimate the point of branding. And there is a myriad of bootstrap-based websites now that look exactly the same.

Oh man, this post is so wrong. It's just like saying all people should look exactly the same in order to avoid confusion. Yes, bootstrap is a good thing. But it should be used only as a base for further improvements.
