I have been an nvim user for the past few years now. I tried the whole modern nvim experience with Telescope, built in LSP and other Lua based extensions.. My conclusion is that my current setup with Ale, FZF + silver searcher, clangd/

There is nothing about the Python language spec (as gleaned from looking at how CPython works) that forces it to be slow or not handle parallelism. In fact the addition of the massive amounts of library code and language changes to support

Don't disagree there. I just think it's incorrect to compare (modern) AI to hammers.

We know how a hammer works. We don't command the hammer to "analyze the nails you see in front of you and find the optimal way to hammer them all in". With AI, there's a qualitative difference. We know exactly how the AI

Without in-process multi-threading with OS threads, writing performant parallel code is nearly impossible. Most of the time you have to drop down to C/C++, disable the GIL and implement parallelism there.

I blame Python and Javascript. Two of the most popular languages without proper concurrency support.

Every time I hear V8 mentioned, people talk about it like it's some sort of sacred tablet given to us mortals by Lord Google. It's good, but its just another interpreter/compiler.

I want a C with templates (with support for C++20 concepts) and consteval, instead of a C with classes (C++) I don't care about RAII, so I don't care about the ownership tracking that Rust provides. I like to think that memory man

I've tried switching to emacs 3 times over the past few years and every single time I come back to nvim. It's just too slow for me.

In general, nvim has better defaults than vim. You can simulate an out of the box nvim experience by adding a few lines to your .vimrc. Besides that, I think the only big difference I've noticed is the nvim exclusive plugins.
