I totally agree that we should get higher vram sizes on GPUs but they are not the same as DDR5. The one you listed does around 50Gbps. A really good gpu does almost 450Gbps. Prices as you know also don’t scale linearly. For something twice

Yes. I host both on my NixOS desktop that has a 13900KF and an RTX4080 (using nvenc and AV1), as well as from my MacBook Pro M3 Pro.

Back in January I wrote a blogpost about this exact issue and people treated it as ramblings. I discussed it with over 30 people in the meantime each saying theres no way ghost jobs are a thing, theres no way it’s that bad, or that they hav

Funny how those academics and professionals like François Chollet and Yann LeCun are on the skeptic side, and a vast number of vocal proponents are old NFT pushers.

I agree with everything you’ve said, and to add to this why they do this without caring about the company future is because in 99.9% of the times the ones taking decisions aren’t founders who have a soft spot for the company. Those are long

Depends on what you mean by homebrew version of cp. cp isn’t a package on homebrew, but I suspect you’re talking about the gnu coreutils which contain the gnu cp. That one does not have the flag. However I think you were still using the old
