Honestly, I’d love to know why that happens. Can you take a look at the logs? On Mac, you can do it through the Console app, and on Linux, through idevicesyslog.

I don’t know what the answer to the Collatz conjecture is, but I know it’s not “carrot”.

I am running nix darwin and its a dream. Don’t have any issues and things just work. Setting everything up just the way I like it took ages but thats because I wanted to play with it. I use most of the same configuration on nixos too

Why would they pay 2/3 of the price for something with 1/5 of ram? The whole point of spending that much money for them is to run massive models, like the full R1, which the Pro 6000 cant

This is an interesting proof of what I keep reading about. Where people are quick at making something, like a PR, with AI, but then doing the last 10% is left in the air. If codex was half as good as they say it is in the presentation video

Doesn’t this mean that realistically even if “the bubble never pops”, at some point money will run dry? Or do these people just bet on the post money world of AI?

The video they posted looks like its made with AI. Their movements and facial expressions are too uncanny

Projects like this are at the heart of what it means to be a hacker. Its extremely fun to have a clear requirement that is not supported by a piece of software that you use and then work around it until it works

I totally agree with you, especially if you actually try using these models, not just looking at random hype posters on twitter or skewed benchmarks. That being said, isn’t it strange how the community has polar opposite views about this? D

Thats so different from my experience. I tried to have it switch a flake for a yarn package that works to npm and after 3 tries with all the hints I could give it it couldn’t do it

Gave Codex a go with o4-mini and it's disappointing... Here you can see my tries. It fully fails on something a mid engineer can do after getting used to the tools: https://xcancel.com/Tymscar/status/191257865

I have tried again step by step with what you said here, copy pasted the prompt even and after a couple changes here and there it loses the plot and gets stuck and seemingly no amount of prompting can get it out. To make sure I tried 3 time

That's how I've done it when it did not work. I did, however, go easier, one by one. I first made a simple countdown. Then I made it count down from 10 minutes to 0. Then I created 2 of them. Then I put them side by side. Then I d

Hey. That makes more sense. To be honest, I don’t think it should be one of the main things on the front page when creating a new project in that case. However for what it’s worth Ive also asked gemini to translate this simple chess clock a

The ai part of the app is basically useless. After 2 hours of “vibe coding” a chess clock flutter app I got basically nothing in the end. It broke more and more each message. I tried fixing stuff myself but it would mess it up again. Would

I dont think thats true. How would you compile a program that has conflicting dependencies with a linux namespace?

To me this post can be framed under dissonance in the dictionary. Installing a package manager and a package from it apparently is harder than installing an OS and the installing a package from its package manager. And lets be honest here.

I agree with you that the tweet is basically useless but what they have done there is not an appeal to authority fallacy. They have only explained why it’s popular. Arguably your response is a genetic fallacy.

Totally agree with you, but one point against doing what you mentioned is that you want to replicate your prod environment as much as possible in CI, to be able to catch bugs

Could you send me the video if you ever end up making it? I don’t understand how jumping between nearby seeds means anything in the latent space. As far as I know it’s closer to like a hash function where the output is drastically different

TVs still are cheaper. There are differences. Just to name a few: Monitors have better colour accuracy, higher refresh rates, have features like Gsync/freesync, way faster response times, more and better ports like displayport 2.1 and
