I'm seeing some pretty surprising claims in this thread about, "I prefer reviewing larger PRs," and, "Teams that make larger PRs go more quickly." That all seems like rubbish to me. I've seen data indicating sm

And yet Rust was the fastest growing language on GitHub last year according to the 2023 review. Ideally it would be easy to learn a language… but the claim that it’s ‘doomed’ if not does not appear to align with data. https://git

For me I started after getting bored at a job and working on an interesting side project at home that I wanted to take to market. I was financially secure at that point and just wanted to go for it. Whole thing failed miserably but I learne

Yeah, I can’t believe so many words are spilled in an article over such a nothing burger… well I can believe it but it’s sad. I’m just as much of a Tesla critic as anyone I’d say but this is really a reach.

It does seem a bit propaganda but I think it highlights a larger issue and doesn’t go far enough! So many cars are so much bigger now. The entire guard rail system probably needs to be reexamined in the face of new vehicle sizes.

Totally agree! When I work in this way I'll rebase all the nits up top where possible. I like to try to get the history to tell a sort of 'story of development'. Though this can be time consuming so I wouldn't fret about

I use a similar strategy to this… much less formal but I’m excited to try this formal write up. My strategy was more like: 1. Start making a big change. 2. See what breaks. 3. Move the big change to another branch. 4. Fix one broken thing a

Missing from a lot of these conversations is a shared definition of what “affordable” means. I’m inclined to think that it is more difficult to afford housing than it was for my parents but couldn’t honestly say it is “unaffordable” because

Agreed. There is a lot Ackman can be criticized on but calling him a genocide supporter is hyperbole. I don’t believe it is helping the message of the folks who are saying it. To offer one criticism of Ackman myself, he has called the criti

I was in the same situation and the solution is to just get a worse home than you want :( I just purchased my first home because I could finally afford it after a few lucky cash windfalls. I spent the last 5 years in a 700 sq ft apartment.

While I empathize with the message about layoffs, the tone of this article is too hyperbolic for my tastes, “Game development is in an extinction level event crisis, and it is entirely self inflicted.” The games industry makes more money th

Arbitrage opportunity on Ultra 2? I’d love to have one of these and thought about running out today to get one before I’m locked out. Will others be willing to pay more next month when that lock is in effect?

I feel like this is an example of reporting on a paper misunderstanding some of the details. Specifically that probabilities can’t simply be added together.
