Would be nice, but there would quite a lot of analysis needed to be able to determine any of that. Which you can't start until the file is public.

It was also nice for cars at the time. There were 8-track car head units, but those were very bulky and only held ~80 minutes of audio.

There's two kinds of referrals...the official ones with a program that goes through HR, then the unofficial where someone you know knows a hiring leader with an open spot. The latter is infinitely better.

Does that happen also within the AI groups? For example, I've tried CodeWhisperer and it's hot garbage. But the same prompts I give it work reasonably well in Bedrock (though not as well as ChatGPT/CoPilot/etc).

Cynically, because there are motivations behind MV3 that aren't related to privacy or security. I don't think it's tin-foil-hatting to assume Google has an internal plan to deal with ad blockers. There's plenty of secur

Next will be the litany of comments pointing out that the declarative API works reasonably well for blocking ads. That's mostly true, for now. Google's shown in several different areas that they know how to slow-roll the real ob

I'm guessing it's not that technical experts will be choosing this path, but rather companies. Once it's "good enough", and much easier to hire for, etc...you hire non-experts because it works most of the time. I

Yes, there are parts of the space that can't be displaced with this. I'm unclear on why you put "many cycles to spare for misses" in quotes, as if it's unimportant. If a linux/arm (or x86) solution is displaci

I wonder if this being fixed will result in it displacing some notable amount of made-for-realtime hardware/software combos. Especially since there's now lots of cheap, relatively low power, and high clock rate ARM and x86 chips

Whatever remaining notable demand isn't directly for Itanium, but rather for legacy installations of HPUX and VMS. Where Itanium, despite the age, is still the most current platform.

Perhaps coincidental, but interesting timing given the role crypto plays in getting money into Gaza. It's purportedly a small part of funding that goes in, but maybe one of few left in the current situation.

To give them some grace, it compiled "made for VLIW" code for Itanium well, where it would reap the benefits. It couldn't do much with existing code to make it efficient.

I would guess the "actively hostile" part had a lot to do with all the time and effort to get the compiler to make good use of Itanium. Hard to focus on developers without that foundation. And they never got there.
