The image on that article really makes me miss my '79 Ford that as a teen I bought not running and fixed/replaced just about everything including the straight-6 300 engine. I tracked my MPG by hand and remember I got 16 in town an

Yes, the elevation is based on sea level. I don't fly much and recently landed in Denver and was watching the altitude on the screen in front of me. As we were descending we landed well before I was thinking we would, about a mile in e

I know you said competent, so this doesn't apply to the service I used yesterday, but it blew my mind. I lost access to TOTP for a service, but no big deal, I'm a good person who kept the backup codes. The codes are all 4 digits a

We had some classic ec-2. They gave plenty of warning and migration was easy. I think Google is being brought up so much because that isn't the typical Google experience when they kill things off. I get your point, if AI were training

The NW corner, but not part of the Clark Fork drainage. It is a sneaky little corner that refuses to flow with the rest of the state. Salmon snagging is a thing for us and the bears.

I'm in Montana and the river here during the spawn looks red with salmon. I don't know how many ladders they climbed, but it seems like they can work. These fish would have to have come up the Columbia river. Somewhere up the thre

I was hoping for more. I guess I watched, bid and lost enough eBay auctions to realize that people would bid up the price of a used item well beyond the price of buying it new on any number of retail sites. The thrill of winning was the onl

People in the cities with "normal" yards are not thinking about wildfires, not being contacted about it. I think they were referring to people in the middle of nowhere, where yard work is more like forestry work. Every year I get

Slate is nice, but you've got to make sure your roof can support the weight. In the USA, most homes can't handle it unless they were built with that in mind. I wish I had a slate roof!

Nah, ya gotta be nice to those guys or they start a prescribed burn on the way out. But I know what you mean. There are some roads around me you don't go up unless you know someone there.

My parents still have one. I had to tell them how to unplug the Internet from their router so they could power it up and get their photos off. Who sells a product that at purchase time brags about it lasting a long time, but then when it ne

My son struggled to read when he was young. Over the summer we set a goal and attached a payout to it. Yes, I bribed my son to read. The problem is now I can't get him to stop. Money talks.

There are still areas in the USA that heat their homes with wood. I live near one, luckily just far enough away that I'm not sitting in the haze of smoke. I don't know how anyone can live in this town in the winter. As for 2-stork

There have been some cities (can't recall which and too lazy to look, but it was in Utah) that were allowing bow hunters to hunt in the city limits. Now I live in the middle of nowhere and people can hunt on the land next to me. There

My 2014 truck has solid axels and body on frame, but the suspension is a million times better than the 70's International truck I was in when I hit my head on the ceiling as it went over a speed bump at a reasonable speed. Coils on all

When I did drywall we'd quote insane prices like that for small patch jobs. I asked my boss about one of those bids and he said he'd quote them that high because he didn't want the job, but if they took it he do it with a smi

I've heard the buds on the end of a branch busting their way out of the dryer outer layer. It was calm. At first I thought bugs, but finally realized what it was. It was much harder to hear than beetles boring their way into a tree.
