I am also unfamiliar, but a naive guess I can make is helping solve other math proofs, and maybe better encryption for the public. Basically everytime I see some progress in math, it usually means encryption in some way is impacted.

Really interesting! I used influxdb for a while. I see one of the core features is to have AS OF <some date time> be used for historical reference. Is this similar to running an append only data structure in a normal tsdb, and then qu

You mentioned only having a few months left. Really just enjoy them, and try to talk to as many people as possible or hangout with as many as people as possible. Also keep hacking. Very cool to hear that you found some workable bypasses. Lo

We recently posted this to the internal YC Bookface forum where we had a great discussion and wanted to share with the broader HN community. Full disclosure, this interesting idea turned into a product and I am a co-founder for it. Feel fre

This doesn't answer your question. But it would be an interesting project to try and make a programming language where you as the dev only and solely use an llm to do all the work. So then you could say it was programmed in english* *O

There's no real proof in this article that anyone out proforms anyone else. The author lists a few notable cases with a few notable people, but I have to ask. Didn't those people get an education? Didn't they go through schoo

Made the mistake the poster above did with discord did for years. The package system is very important to learn in Linux. People have 12 ways to install an app, and they are far from equal.

I think this would vary a lot between "real" code basis. I have had a lot of success when using somewhat stricter frameworks, with typed interfaces, and requiring well defined unit tests, and modules which ecapsulate a lot of logi

For the leaving files around case, isn't that an impossible thing to really deal with from the installer stand point for non containerized applications that have root/admin access? Because they can just create and write to random

System 76 makes a great product in this space honestly. I always recommend them to people who are interested in trying linux. They ship with linux pre-installed, its exactly like buying a dell with windows. https://system76.com&#

This is a great comment and comparison. I think there is a feeling that klarna, and other bnpl companies just lend without checking or caring of consumer credit, or buying power. I've never used them before, so I don't know if thi

Yeah we built a whole email pipeline using Apollo and some other tools. Maintaining high deliverability is really hard but it really makes a difference. If you're just using Apollo I can tell you that it's going to be really hard
