The error usually arises from Google misinterpreting and decontextualizing the page’s content, for example reading a table incorrectly then giving one stat as another stat. The page is correct, it’s Google that’s wrong.

Does anybody know the voltage, size, and weight? Without those numbers, “1,000 mAh” is meaningless. A single AAA battery is rated the same, and if you managed to find an even smaller battery, you could “invent” a 1,000 mAh battery out of it

HN discussion of that post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13394900 I guess I'm coming down hard on one side of a controversial question, but in my mind, if it allows the server to intercept messages without user

Iran blocks every major foreign messaging app, except WhatsApp. Signal escaped it until now only because they had so few users. Also keep in mind that while WhatsApp claims to use the Signal protocol, they installed a backdoor that allows

I believe it’s a cornerstone of rational thinking to be able to accept that I don’t know something. To, when confronted with something like this, think only “I don’t understand that”, not “I don’t understand that, therefore I’m going to ass

Related question: why do most websites give you a light/dark/system toggle instead of always going with system? I’m having trouble thinking of any time I’d want the system dark but GitHub light, or vice versa. Is it just for syste

Why are you assuming you need to charge a 2-day device every other day? You charge it every night, and in exchange you make it through heavy use days, late nights, and the times you forget to charge it. I had a 2-day phone and downgraded to

One point, Google regularly makes false announcements about unpopular changes. When they changed search results to better hide which ones are ads they announced they’d backtrack on it, then didn’t. When they started hiding parts of the URL

I think the parent analogy is better. The land outside Apple and Google isn’t illegal to build on, just less desirable.

This debate showed up in the original HN discussion too, which also used the term. I think it’s more appropriate to draw the line at “as useful as a brick without taking actions not exposed as part of the normal user interface”. Drawing the

You can make a bad native app, but you can’t make a good Electron app. Edit to add: Lots of people are mentioning Visual Studio Code. I agree it’s a good app in many dimensions; I didn’t mean to say that an Electron app can’t be good in som
