If you were lied to, that is reason enough for leaving. If they lie about the role from the start, they will lie about other things.

With that evidence, the CEO should not only fire the creeps involved, but name and shame them. Incredibly damaging, not just for PR reasons, but for missing out on talented people and allowing toxicity.

It doesn't seem like they're trying to actively force women out. It seems like they're such creeps that no women (or grown men) would want to be there.

Yep, and it's not pleasant when you're lucid enough to know you're dreaming, but not lucid enough to be able to reason properly. It's just a general feeling of trying to solve something, without any payoff.

The world hasn't really caught up with the reality of remote work, but for now, I just pay taxes where I reside most of the time.

I got a BFA, but started out a part-time web dev job to pay for university. I graduated with no interest in art, so went full-time in web dev. Been doing it for ten years since, and now build and lead teams. Got there through continual self

Such mischief. Template literals make me feel very yucky. A totally unnecessary complication.

I've stopped using those OO-ish paradigms in JS (no 'this', 'new', 'prototype'), but even still, have much preferred using TS. You can get a long way (and have great flexibility) with only interfaces and g

I quit coffee two years ago to help curb anxiety problems. I noticed I get less done, now, but what I do get done is of a higher quality, and I am less obsessive. It seems that slow, expansive thinking is more useful than turbocharged, focu

I have found it easy enough to just use json-serializable literals to represent html, e.g: ['div', {id: 'main'}, ['h1', 'Some title'], ['p', 'Some text']]

Exciting stuff. As an intermediate Schemer I've been looking for something like this and have had some syntax ideas, mostly about ruthlessly sticking to a minimalist prefix notation, but also a little Haskell-inspired. To illustrate br

Your second example is exactly what I had in mind. It reminds me of the final group listed in this quote from General Kurt Von Hammerstein-Equord: "I divide my officers into four groups. There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy off

Every manager of programmers I've known who was not themselves a competent programmer caused more harm than good. Take that for what you will.

Extremely nice UX design! I started building something like this (static pages with cms) recently, it yours looks like a good enough realisation of the concept that I'll go with it instead of continuing my project.

I had a quick go at this with Racket: https://gist.github.com/twfarland/a9d8ce9eff22b39d3136 I'm not sure if I got the problem right, because it solves the hardest case almost instantly (2006 lions, 2055 wolves, 2

I've been playing a bit with generative art in scheme. The author talks about finding a way to code visual ideas. It can work the other way around, too, i.e. the algorithms we use in our programming work can themselves be a rich source

All of us asserting what Art is or Art isn't are dancing to RZA's tune. This is probably a desired outcome of his gesture. It might annoy some, but it will be quite effective.
