yeah it was definitely a case of not wanting to spend a comparatively small amount of money on dev time to even look into it it was obviously not network based as connection speed didn't seem to change the time required

no one is appeasing anyone, the only suggested changes are stopping new gas stove installs in new homes in some states. even then i would imagine it would be trivial to just wait till after the house is built and put one in induction stove

my issue with them is i don't need my house lit up like a christmas tree at 2am in the morning when everything is "off", i've never found having a flashing light a great way of troubleshooting when there's a lot bet

it does more than that, it keeps a copy of every dll you've ever installed not just the ones in use. there's a reason it just gets bigger forever even if you don't install more programs

at absolute minimum i would say when you have to do an admin task twice through messing with the database or something is when you should probably add an interface for it, guessing what tasks the user (or reality) will screw up is hit and m

I use my phone it doesn't even show the number, but you can cover the number in case of random servers who can remember 16 digits effortlessly in 2 second No security is perfect but that's no reason to skip basic easy precautions

some of the stuff google don't put effort into is super weird, like the whole if the device is in a different "room" it has to loudly announce what it's doing but if it's in the same room it turns down the volume on

tin works pretty well and it's a pretty hot thing to make a roof out of, having an air gap between your car and the heat source makes a massive difference rather than it being heated directly

Yeah no one really cares that it's not super effective in Australia though. the courts order blocks, the ISPs block it at dns because it's cheap and easy and pirates are either scared off by the warning message or just use Google

In the past the court hasn't specified how to block sites so they're usually blocked at dns level, just point the DNS record at one of the isp's ip addresses with a block message If they really are having to block actual ips

i recently spent 4 hours installing random driver versions to get wifi working on a windows pc, i'm of the opinion wifi is just for phones at this point
