A bit of an aside, but because something is free does not mean it is above criticism nor does it mean you can't bitch about things it doesn't do.

This has been tried before with the XUL-based xmlterm around the turn of the century, but it was very slow: http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/06/07/xmlterm/index.html Interesting to see someone pick this up again.

Exactly, you can't even decide what to report without imposing some level of bias.

I figured it was COD4 because more recent variants don't have any mooding or map making tools, an unfortunate trend in recent years. Besides, has the COD engine changed since COD4? I'm not sure it has.

Without looking I think Google is probably the #1 contributor at this point, with Apple being #2.

It's not a matter of needing drinks to say what you mean, it's a matter of lowering someone's inhibitions to see what they really get excited about.

I've been debating peepopen but without a trial/demo of some sort I haven't really been willing to dive in. Would you say it's worth it for a vim user? (edit: never mind, I went ahead and got it)

Calling GNOME an Apple copy is a bit much, but 2.0 was strongly influenced by Apple/NeXT design principals, or at least it seemed that way when it was happening.

I like Django quite a bit, but the mind boggles at how many developer hours have been spent trying to organize settings, or deal with migrations, or setting up deployment scripts, or coming up with a sensible project layout. I mean, doesn't

I believe "chrome" has meant "the GUI of an application" for a very long time. I think it predates mozilla, but I could be mistaken.

I've never attempted this myself, but you might want to google around for ways to underclock your MBP to keep it cool. I'm guessing it's either impossible due to firmware restrictions, or there are tools out there that make it crazy simple

I'd much, much rather just pay an honest price for both the printer and the ink refills. Though, what you propose is more likely to have actual success...

Not to be all full of stop energy or anything, but why would you want this over a print dialog?

They send data every 12 hours, not "the iphone location database", there is a difference.

That's a far cry from "the [iPhone] location database is uploaded to Apple twice a day".

They make all sorts of claims in that article but never do they show the data is sent to Apple. Alex Levinson (cited in the above link) actually states that it has not been shown that Apple is collecting this data: https://alexlevinson.wor

FWIW, WebKit nightly (OSX): 271 +9 edit: Can anyone familiar with Chrome development shed some light on how it is "ahead" of the WebKit nightly? Regressions? Is there rendering code in Chrome that doesn't get pushed back to WebKit?

Seems it would be worth it to run a lightweight server on :80 solely to redirect to the www host. Sounds better than "foo.com" just not working.

I think you could easily label anyone arrogant if they're questioning authority. Besides, nobody likes arrogant people, and arrogant people cant be "victims", so why not write it into policy? They might as well say they target assholes.

When ubuntu first switched to pulseaudio it was apparently a big mess, and the "fix" was basically to uninstall it. So, calling Unity "pulseaudio 2.0" implies that the first thing everyone will want to do is switch from unity to "classic" G
