I think it does if you consider "speed" as meaning response latency and perceived speed, not data throughput. From what I've read here so far, it feels fast, while not killing your battery with bulk cat'ing of text.

I'm a 16.04 user, too, and I've been running 18.04 in a VM for a few weeks. Basically seems ok to me, but, I do have some gripes. Not deal-breakers, just dislikes: * When copying a file in the gui, a progress window doesn'

Thank you! This, along with my sibling replies, is some great information. Nothing that most of us couldn't accomplish without it, but it's going to save a lot of time. Multiplied by all the others that find it useful (I can&#x

I used to support a product with a similar fix. We had a bunch of desktop PCs in the field that were only used from January through April of each year, and usually powered-down the other eight months. Apparently, after several months of no

I get the same result (the calculator), but it consistently takes 5 seconds for the calculator to appear with the result. There's also no side card on the right side or search results underneath the calculator.

That looks really nice. When I clicked the link, I wasn't expecting a good looking page and all of those docs, it was a nice surprise. I look forward to checking it out :)

I was going to say "Man, that'd be terrible to work with!" And immediately realized I'm no different than those 8088 guys in that class :) You work with what you have.

When I was about 14 I was enthralled with programming my new Commodore 64, first in BASIC, then 6510 assembly. I had the opportunity to accompany my mother to a one-day class on programming. Being just an intro on the subject, I was well

Agree 100%. Mine is a mid-2009 (MBP 15" x64 Core 2 Duo), but with an SSD and 8GB, it still runs perfectly fine. It's not a Retina screen, but it's good enough that I don't notice pixelation. It's still my daily dr

I agree. When I initiate an action like "delete" and a dialog pops up, my mind is already assuming it's asking the question "Are you sure?" regardless of what the text says, and my eyes are just scanning for a &quo

I still keep holding out for the MBP that probably won't appear (with lots of ports and a magsafe charging connection, and while I've never tried the newest keyboard, I love my current one). My current MBP is a mid-2010 (2009? ma
