Interesting idea to incentivize startups to invite the union in. I wouldn't be against joining a union (and paying reasonable dues) if it means that I also have healthcare. Does that mean if I decide to start a venture, my venture will

No question that this is against current US expert laws, but do you have any examples of a US tech company getting in trouble from export laws?

I can definitely empathize with some of the points made regarding the "filmmaker's vision" as applied to Netflix. Ultimately, I think feelings like this will degrade and leave those unwilling to change to be forgotten. Art, i

> It feels less gross if you think of "social punishment" as a lighter version of "legal punishment". The mental gymnastics people present for support on these policies is astounding to me.

No, the government could not force Bitcoin to adopt a new hashing function. It would be nearly impossible for any government to enforce a hardfork like that. Why do you think doing this in the open would be more beneficial?

Keeping that a secret would be nigh impossible. It's still extremely unlikely this would actually work in the government's favor.

Yes, I was curious about how much this affects battery drain. It seems like it would be a considerable amount.

The sidewalk is a far more statistically dangerous place for cyclists (and scooters, by extension). Here's an FAQ from Cornell on this: http://www.bike.cornell.edu/pdfs/Sidewalk_biking_FAQ.pdf

To give some context, this is moving away from Microsoft's "open source" license that basically requires you to give Microsoft access to whatever you make with their libraries. Moving to MIT is great for this. As someone work

I alluded to this problem in my comment. This is the crux of the oracle-problem. There is no way to reliably (key word here: reliably) take non-cryptographically provable information and achieve consensus on it in a decentralized manner.

Not really surprising, to be honest. I'm really tired of the overused "blockchains are really slow databases" phrase. They're not, and if you're using one as that, you're doing it wrong almost 90% of the time.
