This site was not what I thought it was. I want to find a match-- but nothing too serious... I'm really just looking for a good time. I want to be someone's interim technical co-founder with benefits for a while. Just temporarily. And not f

This list is somewhat dependent on the size and complexity of the project. For a small or simple project, many of these points might not matter. For example, if Apache can handle your traffic just fine, why spend time replacing it with guni

This might explain the political response to terrorism, but I'm not sure it applies to the individual. Fear of setting a bad precedent which could lead to the undermining of civil order seems to be a more complex feeling than that of being

"And immersion is effectively the number one thing we can use to help you buy into the world." I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. However, the devil is in the details. There are a plethora of ways to ruin immersion in video games,

How would they do this for client-side applications? I made a desktop application that essentially streams & rips (to mp3) Youtube videos but doesn't show any of the video data at all-- never had any issue with blocking or limits. To do

I thought one of the biggest benefits of remote work was NOT having to look at the same people all day, every day. If i'm lonely I'd go hang out with my actual friends. And since I'm remote, those friends can be anywhere I can travel to.

Would you use an api service that aggregated addresses and could tell you if a given address was known to be associated with fraud? And that let you add addresses to the 'blacklist'.

Other than general traffic data compression, I've always been somewhat interested in html compression in particular. I know lots of webservers zip their response data, but I was always curious about the things in html that show up very ofte

Is this a proprietary algorithm? Can desktop video editing software or plugins do it this well? I would love to have this as a quick drop in for Premier or Aftereffects. Also, are there any plans for motion estimation for achieving super-sl

Shaky cams in video games can easily become a hindrance of a good experience. For example Kane and Lynch 2 was criticized for having a shaky cam that made gameplay more difficult. Its definately a balancing act to get the right amount of sh

This makes me wonder if there is a market for patent troll insurance. Pay a small monthly fee and get legal protection or money to hire your own counsel in the event of a lawsuit. It seems to be a pain point that small startups worry about,

Exactly. Improved battery storage capacity and efficiency might be a solution though. Also, I've never liked the idea of sending solar power generated in the Sahara to Europe. I never hear this concept in terms of helping deliver power to A

I wouldn't blame Facebook for having bad judgement. It's wise to be discreet in your opinion on a public forum... especially if you care what the people who read it may think about you afterwards.

This is really cool technology. I often wish I could be a part of researching and building new cutting-edge technology, but it's usually cost-prohibitive as a solo hobby (unless you're wealthy, Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, etc). And even as a c

Selling products to people who have subscribed to an email list may be a great way to get customers. But part of the secret sauce is getting people to be on your list in the first place. I was hoping the article would touch on that a bit mo

I agree. Making money through affiliate and lead generation has been around for a long time and seems to transition nicely as the web evolves. I'm sure there are plenty of apps that do just this and there will likely be more on the way as g
