What's the problem of implicit arguments in scala? I can see why implicit conversions can be a problem but aren't implicit arguments required for typeclasses and other nice features?

The guarantee to get a CPU which can run stable 5ghz on all cores within the TDP limit and only requiring a cooling solution which can handle the TDP. If you need to overclock you don't get this and have to buy more expensive cooling a

But isn't it easier for AMD to close the gap due to their multiple dies on a package design instead of a large monolithic design like Intel? If they make the cores larger the cost for the entire CPU doesn't increase as much as Int

I remember reading a article here on hn about inverse hyper threading (I don't remember the correct term) where multiple cores would work together to increase single threaded performance (if some cores are idle). I believe some company

I'm really curious if AMD can overtake Intel in single threaded performance. They already have the lead in number of cores (per socket) and multi threaded benchmarks like cinebench (when using same number of cores and clocks). At the m

I'm more interested in Zen2 on 7nm which seems to be coming out earlier than Intels 10nm CPUs. Possible IPC enhancements from architecture optimizations of Zen2 + better clocks = first time since over a decade that AMD beats Intel in s

I agree, but the anandtech article is about Intels anniversary CPU (6 cores running @ 4ghz which can boost to 5ghz on a single core and probably 4.6 ghz on all cores), engadets article is about a 28 core cpu running @ ~5ghz. If this 28 core

I don't know about other cancer types but around here they do that for non-hodgkin-lyphoma. The first two years after remisson the screening is every 3 months. Year 3-4 every 6 months and year 5+ once every year.

They should go even further and unite between nations. If most of the universities of europe would negotiate as a consortium they would have even more power. Of course I would prefers solutions which get rid of elsevier, springer etc...

Yeah, as a non native speaker I can't agree more. It also makes it easier to find a solution for a problem if all users get the same error message.

I wonder of there are actually structures as small as this in the CPUs? Even in Intels 14nm process there are many things that are 26nm and upwards.

Implementing above the fold optimizations is not nice for a frontend noob like me when using CSP. You can use a nonce or sha256 for style and script, but not for inline event handlers (onload="..."). Which means for now I have sti

Why would you be concerned about power usage and thermal dissipation? Are you concerned the power saving features don't work as good as they could with Linux (like with Skylake? at first)? Otherwise the reviews of the AMD Ryzen CPUs pu

They didn't need to develop new processors, these are relabeled Xeon processors as it has always been with the HEDT platform.
