Congrats and a big thank you to the team. My favorite language and compiler just got a lot better with this update.

Can anyone knowledgeable here speak about statistics offer some advice? I'm about to get into a project where, for the first time, I'll need to do some statistics processing and visualization. I haven't started on that component of it yet,

Static compilation via C, C metapogramming/manipulation using Mathematica's symbolic engine, dynamic library linking, GPU use via OpenCL, lots of new statistics and probability processing/visualization...

There is a man whose job is to each day enter my property and deposit garbage into a receptacle, which I am then legally obliged to dispose of. He is the mail man.

Sure. These machines cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, offer no additional security, and take naked pictures of you. There really isn't much to discuss.

I give this the thumbs-up. I'm not particularly fond of X11. In fact, I suspect it has been holding back GUI on GNU/Linux for a while.

No, I think it does tell us something about the author. He decided to look for confirmation that Apple fanboys are especially egregious. Why? I would guess that he has some problem with Apple or some of the encompassing culture. Whether ran

You get the same chaff from internet dorks if you talk about anything that people are likely to attach their identity to: video game systems, programming languages, bands, whatever. There's nothing special about Apple fanboys. They're just

Looks like Apple's emoji, which they added as a Unicode font in iOS to avoid implementing an extra layer of software just for emoji (relying on the telco to translate the codes sent via text/email from non-iOS devices) made the cut. Might s

This is the second time I've had to post in one of these Squaretrade threads. Please, people -- Squaretrade is a company that makes profits by hedging selling 'warranties' for 3rd party products. If you don't cash in the warranty within a c

Lately, the window of time for which a new Android phone remains the new hotness is one or two weeks. Sometimes no time at all, as a better phone will be released before another has even made it to market.

The real reason media companies are frustrated (no, really) by the iPad and iPhone is that their entire workflow, and often culture, are based around Flash.

Retune speed is not a very relevant control when you aren't using auto-tune (proper name or generic) in fire-and-forget mode. If they're trying to cover up its use, they aren't using it in fire-and-forget mode. They're using it in graph mod

Haskell works fine on Windows. Some of the lead GHC devs use Windows machines. GHC even comes with a Win32 binding that lets you do GUI programming (doesn't come with a GUI kit for any other platform standard.)
