I don't program in functional environments, however this seems beautiful to me. I do understand your argument and tend to agree, I would like to see a syntax error if there is anything between the multiple lines of implementation.

F# and OCaml are different languages with different goals. It should come as no surprise there are different sacrifices between the languages. Breaking compatibility with .NET, which is F#'s biggest benefit is counter productive.

That's nice in theory, but perhaps you have to change the logic of that SIS. Perhaps some parts need to be decommissioned, or added to. A security hot patch is needed or a backup taken. There are thousands of reasons someone may need
