Machine-learning predictions for Draft Kings (NBA) :) It scraped basically every single player's performance in every single NBA game ever. I tried XGBoost and Keras, and the Keras model outperformed the XGBoost model. Was about to inc

React is inspired by the DOM and they split it before 1.0 IIRC, but that misses the forest for the trees. The main issue I had is that React, Three.js, and R3F are all hierarchical/tree-like (what you and Three.js are calling a graph).

While not incompatible with ECS, the DOM and this renderer go all-in on the javascript event-loop. You would have to write your own run loop, which executes the systems on every frame (ideally creating a DAG and executing in parallel while

I really don't think React will be the go-to tool for VR; it's based on the DOM and trees of function calls, which are both hierarchical, which necessarily means you have the gorilla-banana problem. If you have a coffee cup on a t

Lack of library support is probably the most valid reason here. Most of the other reasons people have posted seem like opinions on ergonomics. I think those held true 10 years ago, but modern JavaScript feels very minimal and lisp-y and is

Python feels noticeably slower than Node.js, particularly when running scripts with large amounts of imports. I now pretty much always use JavaScript for, well, scripting. Not sure why Python and Ruby are considered go-tos there.

As someone who scrapes, captcha's are pretty silly. One of the sites we scrape implemented hCaptcha, and it was a breeze to get around. There are a few things that make my life more difficult, but captchas aren't one of them, and

The ELT (rather than ETL) insight was really cool, hadn't heard of that before. Unless though, you're on a massive, massive scale, Just Use Postgres, and write your ETL (ELT now?) queues normally. Keep It Simple Stupid.
