> riding for 100 miles to grandma's house in a snowstorm. Maybe some of us simply reject the notion that we should be obligated to travel 100 miles at a moments notice?

That satisfies my confirmation bias. I'm under the assumption that pre-existing high-caliber developers aren't improved by ChatGPT/Copilot. At least not yet.

Seconded. I remember the first time I watched a Netflix developer livestreaming their workday using an impressive neovim setup. It was eye opening. I need the same experience for this ChatGPT fanaticism.

I have little sympathy for them, if that's what we're supposed to feel. Maybe the article was poorly written but it seems like "they've tried nothing and are all out of ideas". I would appreciate it if stories like

Also: type MyError {} var _ error = (&MyError)(nil) errors. As(err, &MyError{}) --- Panicking because it needs to be &&MyError{} instead is a similar gotcha.

I guess I am just bad at golang. Loop variable pointer and nil struct is not nil interface are the two that continue to hound us.

I think I'm rather able and intelligent, but there are just so many footguns in golang that my team doesn't have the knowledge to avoid.

What's the revenue trajectory? If you're profitable, why do you need VC? (I think the past decade shows us VCs don't want profitable companies, they want exits: would siter ever IPO?)

I started toying with linux distros around 2012 and even then I didn't understand the "lightweight" aspect. 8GB is an incredible amount of memory to run a desktop environment. Do you usually have Chrome open? Won't that
