Are you American? I am, and this line of thinking screams "uniquely American" to me, but I'm curious if "liabilities everywhere" is similarly a concern across the pond. My understanding has been that every other cou

Doesn't "CSO" come with potential for personal liability in worst-case scenarios? It's not clear if OP volunteered/applied for this security role, or it was thrust upon them. If the company isn't wise enough to

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but I can't quite follow what you're saying. I know it's anti-privatization, but I can really make out the rest. What does this mean > "After the private have do not profiting from

I can agree that it's foolish to expect payment for labor done without agreement of compensation, but your likening of volunteering at a soup kitchen to Amazon profiting from FOSS contributions doesn't quite land for me.

This is it. Have a network that recognizes you as a high impact contributor. It's no more complicated, and no more simple than that. What you're asking is more likely "how do you do that". Talent, luck, hard work, or nep

I've never said this before but I'll say it now: "'ORMs are for people who don't know SQL' is usually said by people who have never written a complex application." I agree that ORMs are dangerous and clums
