Stock sales by executives is normally not a big deal, but 30% is a pretty large number, especially when TWTR is at a pretty depressed price at the moment. Then again, if he needed the cash, the low stock price increases the amount of stock

You have to account for selection/hindsight bias. There were probably many more things predicted by various niche groups, just selectively looking at the few correct ones later does not mean that the overall prediction success ratio is

Interesting viewpoint. The difference is that in the village case, the information distribution was much more symmetric. People knew about you and you knew about them, and you knew about each other's knowledge and presumably acted acco

Umm, WhatsApp might not be popular in the US but it's massively popular in India, Brazil and many other countries. IIRC they crossed 1B users a few months ago, and continue to grow. At acquisition, they were at 400M. If you look at how

I hear you (my wife has a similar problem). The sad answer is that Apple and others don't care for your business. If Airpods work well for the majority of potential customers, that's good business for them. Products don't ne

Have you tried living near a Caltrain station? I have, and IMHO the noise from the trains (they blow their horns when entering the station) is very annoying, and harder to ignore/get used to since it's discrete, unlike continuous

/rant I am so tired of comments like yours. Google does a ton of UX research, so I am sure they have a much better understanding of whether normal iOS users find their apps usable or not. If you dislike their design, don't use the

I am conflicted about this, and see merits on both sides of the argument on Thiel's actions. So I tried to draw an analogy: Let's say that there is some patent troll that only extorts money from small startups, who don't have

My biggest problem with Hulu, even more annoying than the ads was that they didn't have all the episodes of the shows that they presumably have rights to. For a show like Modern Family for instance, they would have the latest episodes

People seem to be getting confused between salary and total comp. Making 300k+ in total comp is pretty easy at the big Tech companies. Most level 5 Software Engineers make around that and there are >10 thousand of L5 SWEs at just Google;
