Fun fact: the windows and Linux communities are both equally bad at this. It’s not that apple users are fanatics, it’s that some people define their identity by their OS and will make absolutely certain you know.

I’m honestly surprised it took as long as it did to see the first Stallman-apologist “you must be living in a bubble” rebuttal.

You make friends in real life and then include them in this platform, not the other way around. Not building an audience seems to be a feature. I view this as a great way to keep in touch with people you actually know.

I’ve been using Kagi as my primary browser for a while. My only complaint about so far has nothing to do with Kagi itself, I just wish I could set it as my primary search engine in Safari.

Couldn’t have said it better. I also switched from fast-track engineer to EM for similar reasons; I loved the people I worked with and wanted them to be better represented. I wanted to get the roadblocks out of the way and let them thrive.

I don’t want to get drawn into a negativity thing here, but I think this is important: > And I don’t think that part is an opinion, it is the interpretation of a fact You’re describing an opinion here. Your interpretation is your opinion

This is written like a death knell for stadia, but is it really? If the tech can be white labeled and used elsewhere then it seems like the tech is less likely to be killed off, not more. Nothing about this necessitates killing the gaming s

This is a silly take. Game Pass is the best value in gaming today by a huge margin and I say that as a general naysayer of MIcrosoft. It is a reasonable take for someone to stay with MS because of the service.

I’m struggling to find a way to word this that doesn’t seem dismissive or snarky, but I’m genuinely curious so I’m going to take a stab at it anyways. I am a dad who has felt all of the things you mention and my interest in this platform is

Having used both systems, have to say that the iPhone parental settings are just leagues ahead of android. It is dead simple to set and view usage based on app or category, and setting overrides just seems to work.

I was a hardcore vim user for many years, and switched to Emacs a few years ago. It’s hard to give a concise, objective reason as to why. My best attempt would be something like “vim is a great editor, but emacs is a great ecosystem”. I alw

The comments on that post are deplorable. However, I’ve been working in web development for many years and I have to say I am not surprised. I started my career working in paint stores, then moved to home renovation for low income families.

It would be great to see a running example here. A five minute video where notes are made in real time and then a brief overview of why at the end would really help me to understand how this is supposed to work.
