The article doesn't make it clear; Do they get their code also? Presumably the original acquisition was of the "product" but the article REPEATEDLY points out the original founders have gained the rights to the trademark and the domain. Wha

I'm not sure I agree... "Terrible code" is this sort've nebulous subjective thing. Clearly, to you and I, this is terrible code, though probably created by a minifier / compiler. Lots of code can be terrible (We've all written some in our t

I agree, over zealous mods are really having a negative effect on this site lately with submission renaming. In this case both the current title and the original title (if memory serves) give the impression that twitter is somehow at fault.

Is it a bug though? Sounds like a conscious design limitation in the parser. A bad limitation, but not a bug. Sounds like it's behaving "as expected".

Headline makes it sound like there is a bug with Twitter. In reality they are doing something totally legal, if a little gross to look at IMO (C / C++ embedded coder by training). The actual bug appears to be not a bug so much as a limitati

I think the actual problem is that umping to a specific letter breaks the infinite scroll. Jumped to 'S' looking for some relevant domains for a side project but it keeps looping through maybe 50 or so domains. Is it looping through all of

I was going to write some snarky comment, "I was just thinking it was time to replace my commemorative AOL coasters"... However, this might be useful for the people who are buying PCs @ bestbuy. Especially if you get the BestBuy associates

I think there is a lot to be sad about the anti-windows opinion being linked not necessarily to windows but to the hardware. I personally love windows. I think Vista got a lot more negativity than it deserved and I love Win7. However, My wi

When you say "data model" are you talking about object persistence? I was under the impression android didn't provide built in object persistent.

Not clear to me from the article. Why did the universal lawyers believe the DMCA Safe Harbor rules wouldn't apply to pre 1972 music?

I really like the idea of a sabbatical... but I always worried then in my (our) field you'd end up really really far behind / out of touch if you took a 2 month sabbatical.

Our policy is officially, "Take however much time of you need, we don't want to track it just make sure you get your job done"... Below that there is an addendum, however, "We expect people will probably take around 5 weeks off per year". T

I'm one of the most conservative folks you're likely to meet... One of those "Right Wing Nutjobs"... but this really feels like FUD to me. In a state of emergency the US Gov will need to ensure that it has the ability to communicate. Agreed

I worked for one of the big TV Makers and you're absolutely right. Brickville headed your way. Hell, we "bricked" some in the lab. As for the processor, almost all of these high end TVs are MIPS procs, though I know for a fact some of the n

Uhm, I'm not sure if this guy is serious. (Shitty anecdote time) None of the iPad owners I know (maybe 20ish?) were iPad bound because of their existing iTunes content. The Android (Tablet and phone IMO) problem has been, so far, Hardware.

I read the title as $100.00 because it had a decimal and I'm American. Looking at the TOS it appears to be $100,000.00 which is quite a bit bigger than I thought from the headline.

I'm not sure if we mean the samething by "embedded systems work", however I've generally found embedded work to be far easier on OSX thanks to the unix udnerpinnings. There may be some troubles if you need a serial connector, in my case we

Many games add "Gold sinks" to tackle this. Just ways for players to use gold that completely removes it from the economy. I believe the trick of this is to scale it with the amount of gold in the system. Complete conjecture, but I suspect
