What about a socket that is like USB-C, there is no wrong way to insert it. Though I imagine such a socket would be an insane task to complete and have numerous problems with latency and speed.

AMD was sooo close to having a perfect 4096 socket. SO CLOSE! But, alas, it was not meant to be.

I'm missing some key entries here; * Does it work on languages other than JS? * How fast is it in comparison to PB? Only JSON is benchmarked and Compactr seems to be only minimally faster

IIRC then this is somewhat the case, the bell curve for IQ points is "flatter" for men, there is more tendency to go into extremes, while women tend to have a tighter distribution.[1] This does however not mean that there is a va

This sound kind of reminds me of one of these "Space Engine Sounds" on youtube, especially the Firefly/Serenity themed track. I used to love it for sleeping, it's rather relaxing.

Learn more languages? Programming languages are largely very similar, if you know one language it should not be a problem to pick up another language and write hello world code fairly quickly. Writing a webserver in a language that offers l

It doesn't seem like the author is actually proposing an alternative, rather, the only thing says is "Don't use JWT, here is how you can do X with Nacl" Even worse; It is suggested that to authenticate a user one should

There has been some interesting discussion on this thread already. However, what most seems to fail to see is that an algorithm compared to a human justice system, could inherently be less biased. Having no bias at all is hard but only havi

Not really, a hardfork is a explicit change in consensus, everyone decides that despite the code saying A, we do B. The underlying code is overridden for a single block before reasserting it with full authority but it does not affect the

There wasn't a protocol change either. The hardfork that came after the burning failure of the DAO moved account values from the DAO to a new contract. The protocol remained the same.

DAO wasn't a protocol anymore than a Bitcoin Client is part of the protocol. It was an application that failed.

This looks interesting but until Ed25519 on Android, importing existing keys and Paper Backups are supported it's a no-go for me. For some things I trust a paper backup in a fireproof safe over some nebulous cloud thingy on my phone. A

If you have several drives in the same bay, you're going to get vibrations that severely reduce lifetime of the harddrive. NAS Drives also have much better electronics/mechanics to help them not crash all your data while in use. T

I use NAS Harddrives which are built for hotswapping. I have no idea why anybody would use a consumer harddrive in a RAID Array, the price difference is 10€ at best AFAIK.

I hotswap drives all the time, it's not a problem and makes a harddrive swap a 30 second task instead of a 10 minute task and doesn't incur downtime either.

Sounds fun until you have to open your cabinet door for legit reasons like swapping a faulty hard drive in your RAID array.
