Why don't the affected brands - who are being hurt by this - sue Google? End-users might sue them too, but Google is more afraid of Disney suing them than random nobody

The lock-in is the point. I mean, why else would Apple invest in something like this. They became the richest company in the world by increasing lock-in in every step.

It did help me to translate nursery rhymes for my kid from one language to another while they still rhyme and mean approximately the same thing. It sucked in gpt-3 but 4o (or whatever is the latest one) is actually really great for that.

Microsoft Store is like App store, except Microsoft doesn't give two shit about quality and you're not locked-in. It's like they took entirely wrong lessons from App Store.

Acrobat Reader is not an Electron app. It is using Chromium Embedded Framework, so it's not using native UI. But it also isn't Electron. I don't see any Node.js anywhere in Acrobat Reader.

I tried Ladybird browser for fun, and it looks more stable than when I ran it for the last time, which is great! It doesn't properly load the given substack (it seems to stop loading it in the middle), but it looks fine. :) Surprisin

ICQ was bought by... uhh Russians? Israelis? Something like that... and was changed several times what it actually is; when I tried it recently, it was just a WhatsApp clone; they even removed all the old ICQ number accounts.

I hope it can figure out story points for me, as I never understand what they mean and what value to put there. I think AI will be better at story point estimation than me.

Phones are not really energy-intensive. They produce negligible amount of energy compared to house appliances. A fridge produces about 100 times more energy than a phone.
