I've been asking for a proper debugger for years! But the Go author keeps on saying that we don't need one... sigh...

Will Go ever get an interactive debugger that is comparable to Java?

If you're writing server side code, then there is nothing wrong with relying on the JVM. High performance, self optimized over time can easily make up for the long startup time, and high memory usage.

Go still has no good IDE support, no interactive debugger. I don't know why people prefer Go over the alternative like Scala+Akka.

Easy to go mainstream if it can support Rails. :)

Do you think Golang can handle more connections than NodeJS?

How many more years until Go gets named parameters?

Does anyone care that the $100k Tesla Model S doesn't come with safety features such as blind spot monitor, lane departure warning, forward collision detection? Subaru has them all for a third of the price!

So testing double(mocking) in Go is still a big headache in version 1.2?

Also, Derby needs to decouple from MongoDB.

Very cool. But Derby still needs to support IE in order to be taken seriously. Otherwise look into AirBnB Rendr and Yahoo Mojito if you want to support both client side and server side rendering.

Doesn't Scala do this already?

Don't think of it as client or server code. Think of it as presentation code. And it happens to run on both the server and browser. Though, don't write your business code in javascript. Hell to maintain.

I've been waiting for YUI team to fit the YUI App Framework(the equivalent of BackBone) into Mojito. But seems like you've beaten them to it. :) Great job!

It will be awesome if we can couple Backbone with NodeJs to build SEO friendly web apps like Yahoo Mojito.

I wish more people would read this blog post before writing another MVC framework in Node. http://eflorenzano.com/blog/2010/09/27/why-node-disappoints-...

It emulates the browser on the server side in order to generate the HTML tags then send the HTML tags back to the browser. Overly complicated. Why can't Meteor generate the HTML tags like DerbyJS or Yahoo Mojito??? Look elsewhere if you wan

Something like RubyMine IDE debugger or Firebug javascript debugger. If you are a Ruby developer then I highly recommend trying out RubyMine. I promise that you will never debug Ruby code using gdb again!

I was originally very excited about Go when I first learned about it. But then I got tired and frustrated quickly after having to listen to the other Gophers telling me that I don't need this or that feature because there is a better way to

A seasoned Java developer is expected to have worked with one of the mainstream ORM like Hibernate or Ebean. But a Go developer gets away with not having to know an ORM because there is no mainstream ORM in Go. :)

That's what the other gophers say too. Java has interfaces too, but it also has Mockito that makes testing much easier. You should look into it. Mocking library will help reduce boiler code. You would know that if you had used one.

Go doesn't have any mocking framework like Mockito/Java or Rspec mock. You will end up writing a ton of code yourself if you want to mock something simple.

I wish Go has named arguments like Python and Scala. Reading and debugging code could be so much simpler.
