This is a bit beside the point, but I have trouble understanding why someone who is willing to put some work into configuring their computer still uses Windows. Just use Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Kubuntu and stay away from those ads. Compati

As someone who went through browser wars and lived under IE tyranny, I hate this point of view (which is pretty common, unfortunately). What happened is that standards finally got their act together, and FF was eating IE's lunch anyway

What is the best defence against this? Is there some software on hdd/sdd level that can detect file being encrypted?

To be pedantic: it might be able to transfer 319 MB/s (with a gigabit port), but almost certainly not 319 GB/s, let alone 319 TB/s.

I don't agree with the downsides - what you are describing is simply a bad implementation of this mechanism. At the very least, the files could only be checked every 5 seconds, or inotify or similar mechanism could be used. The main up

Nginx configs do look more readable, but they have a lot of gotchas themselves. Quite surprising actually.

And Apache supports .htaccess files which are great for hosting (nginx doesn't, afaik).

Borland was awesome, with Turbo Pascal, Borland Pascal, Borland C++ and later Delphi they ran circles around their competitors, Microsoft included. It is incredible how they have disappeared from the scene completely.

What bugs? Ff had an upgrade not long ago where they made it difficult to use extensions, and the UI has been made worse (or I'm just old and set in my ways), but bugs? It just works. If it is slow, I never noticed.

Agree 100%. About save/export debacle, someone made a plugin which makes saving to non-xcf easier [0] - big thank you to them. It allowed me to still use Gimp when I had to manually edit 100s of PNGs. It is incredibly frustrating to se
