Yes, it is, and I respect them too. I just wish UIs would be considered finished once the major UX and implementation bugs were fixed. The reason I won't touch eithet Gnome or KDE is that there have been so many reimplementations of

Really? You can select some text in a browser and paste it to a shell with a right click? This is something that must be supported on OS level to be useful.

Just a huge thank you to Daniele for developing and maintaining psycopg! The article shows the level of professionalism and care that goes into this project. Using Django to test implementation is a genius idea. I can't wait to try the

To me, Linux is closer to "Windows" than Windows 10 are. Using Xubuntu, I have desktop, panel, shortcuts,... Everything WinNT and WinXP (best Windows versions imho) had, and best of all, once I configure it it stays the same . Wi

Not GP, but agree with them. In my opinion: because you don't show respect for them. What would your reaction be if someone said that to you and you were powerless to do much about it? Of course, this is all judging just by the tone of

For me the rule is to always use pipenv locally and pip + requirements.txt (generated by pipenv) for production (in docker container usually). No complaints.

No, your impression was right. Reading this blog post made me realize how little I know about the python import system (and I use python daily), and at the same time how little I want to learn it. It is completely unintuitive and probably

I assume this was after the linked post then, and it's good to hear that. The problem is that these posts stay online for a loooong time. Thanks for answering.

Not sure about mac mini, but some old machines might draw considerably more power than rpi. Rpi has a problem with sd cards, but you can make it use them in the read-only mode, in which case rpi becomes a very reliable computing device.

As a counterpoint, I love ThinkPads but never understood the appeal of the track point. I don't mind it being there of course, but it is not a reason to prefer one laptop to another, and definitely not the reason I like ThinkPads.

I see your point, I'm just saying that for many people viable alternatives already exist. But I understand completely that not everyone can (or is willing to) make the tradeoffs needed. Btw, I hear FairPhone 3+ with e.foundation OS is

The alternatives are just that - alternatives. Don't want to make compromises needed for them? Then don't and stay in Google / Apple candyland. Or, make a sacrifice yourself and develop the missing support for the phone you f

I fail to see the difference. You say it doesn't use GPS, but then continue to say that it uses location data (and thus, I assume, GPS). So which is it? Or are you saying that the app doesn't receive the user location data, only G

If it's easy to misunderstand then it's bad UX. Discord's chat could learn a lot from Slack and Mattermost (but then again, so could Signal, Skype and Teams). Their videoconf however is top notch.
