I reckon that is nowhere near enterpricey enough. I would be very surprised to find anything less than the biggest Oracle db running that crap.

My guess - varchar(15) Adobe does the same thing with the horrible license-management selfcare site. Which, as far as I can tell, is some kind of SAP frontend.

In my opinion, there's a certain set of core rules, you need to learn, after which it's relatively easy to transfer your knowledge between programming languages and domains. I'm fairly sure you can get this fundamental toolbox in any langua

N.B.: I looked into Wordpress et al., but I always avoid using software written in PHP if I can, and theming in Wordpress involves more time than I have to spare. Well, you're not exactly making it easy on your self, if you pile a

My thoughts exactly. In fact, watching the presentation gave me the impressions that the touch ui was actually slightly awkward to work with, compared to using a mouse. That's not a problem, as the application it self is quite interesting.

I fully agree with that. It's just something to keep in mind before building on their platform. It's not for me to decide how Rackspace should run their business, but for me it simply means I can't use them even though I want to. If only th

Rackspace are amazing. The only gripe I have (which isn't minor, I might add) is that you can only buy machines in tiers. If you want a machine with high network throughput (say, like a proxy), you need to purchase lots of cpu, ram and disk

I suppose there is an element of trust, the moment you engage in what is basically the start of an employment. Just like you don't bad-mouth a former employer, you don't do so with an almost-former-employer. Try to turn it on its head - Wou

Assuming the puppet configuration is kept in a (git) repository, can't you use that to manage the issues you mention there? The main repo lives on the puppet master, and has a post-receive-hook that ssh's in and updates clients. A rollback

I don't know. It's probably in a gray area zone. What conclusions would you draw yourself, if you were about to hire this person and that post came to your attention? If I was hiring and I googled the persons name and found this, I would pe

My take is that underneath the polish and functionality, what all these tools really do, is to impose a very specific workflow on its users. Peoples workflows differ a lot, so some tools will match some people better than others. In the end

Briefly looked at your site. First thought: Couponify helps merchants build coupon sites that are SEO friendly I get the first part, but "that are SEO friendly" sounds a bit odd. I would take that for granted - it's a bit like if y
