I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Usually, stock options would be accompanied with a lower salary. That is surely a negative present?

That's very sweet, but the problem with this idea is that hours worked is very easy to measure - But value created is much harder. Even if you could measure that relatively precise, what happens if an employee spends a lot of time on a task

Very nice looking map you have there.

This looks like a good idea. I could certainly see myself using this. It isn't clear from the presentation, but it would be a real annoyance if it only works with ios, as this puts a limit on who my son can mail with this app.

I don't know how it works in France, but in Denmark, we have a capital gains tax of ~50%. However, that only applies if you pull the cash out directly. You can do all sorts of things, such as moving the money into another company, which you

I've used Rails and I've used Drupal for custom applications (not just out-of-the-box cms sites). It would be a cold day in hell, where I picked Drupal over Rails.

As an aside, one of the investors is listed as mpizldqpida - what kind of name is that?

Depends on the speed with which you can travel. During rush hour, even 1.5 miles is unbearable.

In my early twenties I got tired of programming and started studying history at the university instead. I lasted about two years, at which time I had so much freelance programming work that I couldn't focus on the studies enough to pass tes

That's what we ended up doing. As you say, not ideal and given that we were in a hurry, it didn't get priority for a long time (Since it was mostly futile anyway). Anyway - Just an anecdote to show that things aren't always that simple.

Doing The Right Thing (tm) is always easy when looking from the outside in. In my experience, good developers write shitty code all the time, because the world is a messy place and quality comes at a price. As an anecdote, I once worked on

As a counter point - Try to avoid caching until all other options are exhausted. They tend to complicate matters and pave over the real problems, when they could some times have been solved more elegantly.

None of the points you list have any relevance for making a choice. The two languages are so similar, that it's (imho) entirely a matter of taste which you prefer. If you have experience in either, probably go with that. If you don't, see w

Yes, but I bet that you choose to drive a bike for all sorts of non-practical reasons, which makes it a luxury issue. Anecdotally, my impression is that lots of people wear suits in both India and Southeast Asia. Maybe even more so than we

Sweating in a suit is a first world problem. Try riding on a two-wheeled motor vehicle on ice in the presence of traffic. Arguably, that's a first-world problem too.

That sounds like a very minor inconvenience. Just keep proof of ownership with you and the problem is solved? After all, the only way the system can work, is if it's actually policed.

This is already a solved problem. Microformats, while only moderately successful, can embed all relevant information in a standardised way.

A battery could presumably power it long after being unplugged. But you're right - That article basically states that the problem was solved in 1958, by replacing the mechanical latch with a magnetic door. Coincidentally this research was f
