No disrespect intended, and you probably have good motives. I looked at those links and it still seems like the focus is on boot security, focused around ChromeOS. Regardless of whether or not the issue of "opening things up" has

My understanding of open firmware is making sure that the booting process is accessible to the user. Securing the boot process from intruders is secondary to that. It appears that these talks are more about securing the boot process, rather

I'm sorry, this looks more about securing the boot for embedded devices and not really related to user control of firmware and preventing closed source code that takes away freedom/spy's on the user. The program of day one is

This looks more like a boot security event[0] rather than open firmware. Does anyone know of any other events that actually talk about open firmware implementations? [0]: https://www.osfc.io/archive/2022/

Thanks for being a part of this. I have been a supporter of Bandcamp since I found it a few years ago. I would donate some money to keep a site like this going that works directly for musicians and provides non-drm digital files., streaming

Yeah it seems like it's going in that direction. The new generation seems fine with streaming services, now. I worked for a few customers who want to retain their physical music in their homes with a media devices and stream it to all

This is why I dont work for anyone but my customers. There is no way I would deal with the kind of dissonance we are living through today. I do all my design work, my coding, my deduction for people that hire me directly for individual proj

I wonder if this is the reason why Starfield is so disjointed and the inventory system is the same as it always has been. You would think they would put a specialist on such an important part of the game.

Yeah but is the game industry really better off having such complicated games? Some might say no. I'm finding that I have more fun and feel better about supporting indie games. Less shit I have to deal with from companies that don'

Riiight. Another cryptocurrency solution. crypto falls into the same category of untrustworthiness as the rest of these so called solutions. The only difference is the that crypto has a more murky past.

Yeah, fastmail is pretty close to office 365. As long as you're not dependent on Aszure for other components. I suggest businesses think about migrating away from 03 65 because this problem will probably get worse in the future, since

Thats the guise the government operates with. They have to look like they are doing something. Passing new laws paints that picture. The real problem is removing those protections, the real situation is that people in that system are paid b

I work closely with an ISP in my field. It seems to me that the biggest threat to customer choice is independent ISP's being able to provide service through the building out of the cable infrastructure, at least in northern California.
