Google is really hitting the lows these days. They overhyped wave and when they launched it nobody knew how to use it for anything besides trolling, then Google trolled us and said that Chrome OS would only "support" SSD because seemingly t

I admit just skimming this, but what benefits does WebGL add to (the very much failed) VRML? Embedding in HTML pages? More JS hooks? Anything which couldn't have been bolted onto VRML? Or is VRML just too dated to be a reasonable thing to b

My most common use of Perl: $ someCommandChain | perl -pe 's/because sed regex sucks/' Maybe I could spend some time learning a new regex dialect to avoid perl entirely, but for the time being this works for me.

Most of the typically criticized, "fucked up" aspects of ASP.Net (like the page life-cycle event model) has been cleaned up in ASP.Net MVC. I still want my debugger though.

I checked the link to the digg case myself, and then I found this: Computing the intersection with a JOIN is much too slow in MySQL, so we have to do it in PHP. If they claim that doing any heavy computation is faster in PHP than in MySQL

I'm still hooked on my solid collection of Firefox extensions. If this is indeed an "OS" in any sense of the word, I would expect it to support switching Chrome for Firefox. If not, it's pretty much DOA to me.

I really don't care about wifi as long as I have 3G. It works everywhere, and it's a very simple opt-in solution where those who want it can pay for the service. But then again, I don't live in the US. Telcos actually works around here.
