While I agree with some of the points made, this article is mostly a rant filled with generalizations and untruths. >They forgot to talk to people who are actually members of the black community. >Regardless, did anyone try to reach o

Website won't load for me in Firefox, keep getting security warnings about the site not being secure. Ignoring the security warnings just redirects me to another page with another warning.

I used a Compass agent when buying my condo but had no idea they were masquerading as a "tech" company. Their online presence was a lot better than other agencies in the area which is probably what sealed the deal for me, and FWIW

My biggest complaint with iOS development is how confusing Xcode's build system is. Extracting code out to shared frameworks is a confusing process and I can understand how so many of the top apps get it wrong. Also, it's clearly

I am more stunned by the tone your response. Why are you implying there's a "struggle" or "fundamental problem"? Sorry but your language is very condescending. Sometimes it's easiest to hit Cmd+Z a few times to

Can you also please explain what the "||" is doing? That looks really weird to me coming from Swift and don't see it in the docs. edit: thanks all, should have known it was a lambda :D, in Swift we can omit this. My first tho

Totally agreed, the academic world has always operated and depended on a walled garden approach and making things needlessly complicated. Thankfully the cracks are forming, the pandemic probably sped things up quite a bit with universities

Thanks for the more reasonable take, though I still have to disagree. What you're saying directly contradicts the professor's own statement: > Please do not ask me for solutions. With very rare exceptions, I will say no, even i

FWIW the updated date doesn't necessarily mean anything, the app could be loading code remotely via some endpoint which the article does mention as a possibility in general.

You both have an incredibly generic logo/header/copy template so I'm not really sure what you're trying to imply. Your site copies the format of Stripe and they were around in 2010, pre-dating you by 4 years.

No I don't think that's a fair comparison, in this case downloading the WebAssembly file is trivial and much more accessible to the average user.

You can easily view the webassembly file as part of the website source, so what you're saying is a bit misleading IMO. I don't see this being different than minified Javascript.

Yea, I'd understand the frustration if OP was paying for the service, but this reeks of entitlement. If you are a free user don't be mad when the company tries to convert you to a paid user. A better example is how pushy Apple is

After reading that article my take-away is not that "required" is bad and should never be used ever, but rather it was bad with how Google wanted to use it. And since this is Google's project, it makes sense for them to remov

Can you elaborate more on the "required" fields point? We've been using a similar feature for several years now in APIs at my work and haven't run into any issues, though we do only use it very sparingly for fields that

Yea SwiftUI being tied to the iOS runtime was an incredibly bad decision IMO. WWDC the last couple years has been mostly useless because it's all about SwiftUI, and basically none of Apple's major app partners can use it yet since
