What nginx needs to become the ultimate platform, in my opinion, is to provide an API for interacting with WebSockets by transient processes (such as PHP). That way it acts as a surrogate pub-sub handler, whether or not your instance stays

I'll just throw in front end libraries too. We weren't able to leverage HTML5 due to our market segment. Internal: Git, GitHub, Basecamp Client: HTML-not-quite-5, jQuery, Lodash, Fine Uploader, Select2, Redactor, Fancybox 2, Sass/Compass Se

I didn't have that link, and that pretty well backs your point. I know proving a negative is next to impossible, but I figured that you'd have a reason for making the assertion 9which I wanted to know). The closest I can find to a study of

Can you cite anything that shows that bcrypt hasn't been studied by cryptographers? I've not heard that yet and would like to add it to my research (I keep notes on good password storage techniques).

Then in this case the criminal wins. It's easy for a law abiding citizen to be pick-pocketed or robbed at gunpoint, and for the criminal to get away for long enough to cause havoc.

By making the devices the central source of proving identity you'd create a new problem: theft of a device would become theft of identity. They could "prove" that they were you because they had your device. How is this more secure?

Reason 6: I don't have time to steal your idea. I'm so busy working and trying to find the time just to spend with my family, and sometimes play with a project on the side, I haven't got the time to steal your idea. Not even if your idea is

You've obviously never had an amateur developer run smack-into open_basedir issues before. The application basically gets a 404 error when including dependencies, until they look for open_basedir configuration. A developer really needs to k

This reminds me of the "Tracer Bullets" tip from The Pragmatic Programmer. The idea being that tests help you see where the code should go and how far off you are, so that you can aim a little better and try again. This is just tracer-bul

This is a linkbait title that has nothing to do with cracking. It does, however, have to do with the recovery of your encryption keys from a memory dump. And yes, if your computer is running or put into hibernation your encryption keys will

I use Github professionally, and for my open source projects. The visibility of a project on Github is hard to beat, and is often found just because it's on Github. Outages usually come on the front-end, and often I've been able to push to
