   Not Linux, and not exactly what you're asking for, but Windows PowerToys has VideoConference mute which seems to install an audio driver that can globally mute. Not sure if something like this exists for Linux. https://docs.

   The implicit grid data structure from there is a personal favorite of mine. I used it in a game once and it performed incredibly well for our use case. It's a bit too complicated to totally summarize here, but it uses a bit per object

   Their messaging was pretty poor here imo. The email they sent me gave no clear indication that Firefox would have this ability in it's body.

   To first point. Bit more complicated imo. The venue would have to tier pricing (which many do via vip) to not exclude the m people who won't pay $100. But does require more effort on venue part.
