Declining to use military force against a riot is not siding with the rioters. By your logic the military also sided with the BLM looters.

2 good points. Being in the same city as the virus lab is a lot less suspicious than being across the street.

Those millions of peasants living near bat caves would have traveled to thousands of markets all over China, but the virus originated at the one market in China that is basically across the street from a virus lab? It's not impossible

There are thousands of wet markets in China, but very few virus labs. Out of all the wet markets in China, the virus just happened to originate at the one right next to the virus lab? That alone is enough evidence to make the lab escape t

The only way to get good is practice, and as an employee you only do this once every couple years or so. The company has people who do it every day.

When you are an institution like the CDC you need to be trusted to be effective. So, yes, the most expedient solution to the mask problem is to lie, but it's not worth the long term damage to credibility when they are inevitably caugh

Just make it up. This will never go to trial. Google's lawyers will see that the plaintiff is correct and make the change in maps.

The end of your comment seems to imply that meritocracy is intended to generate equality, but actually it's intended to do the opposite.

Just because it's theoretically possible to fit 3bn people in Europe doesn't mean the Europeans should want to do it.

I don't buy this explanation. Very few employees are paid in any financially complex way. Wages dropping overall must have a different explanation, which I suspect is an increase in labor supply due to women entering the labor force

Yeah it's such a dumb argument. The obvious explanation is that all of those companies are ad supported, and advertisers don't want to advertise next to porn. If advertisers suddenly wanted to advertise on porn pages, how many s

I mean laws that existed at the time AirBnB was started, which you seem to imply in your comment. I still think it's strange that the government can tell you how long of a duration you have to rent your property for, but it definitely

In AirBnB's case were there actually any preexisting rules? It would seem strange to have rules in place governing short term rentals before there was really even a market for that.

There is no general "character". There is nothing stopping a nobel prize winning physicist from also being a pedophile. These things are just not related.

I don't think it's that. People have always seen things they disagreed with in the news. The bias now is undeniably real. For example, the NYT has lost its credibility with me by firing its editor for running an opinion that I
