One problem you face with your plan is that there isn't actually a concrete idea presented. Building a platform to 'insert generic statement' is almost always a bad idea, and rarely results in success. My advice: define your idea so well th

The biggest thing you are missing is that it potentially limits growth. Most entrepreneurs I know want to create wealth far and beyond what you can make with a small business. You are much less likely to do that with open source, as you eit

What's really needed is an open source version of this so that websites can integrate custom fitness functions. Obviuously for something as easy as "clicks" this is trivial, but the real money will be made when you can integrate it into pay

It's easy to build something that can't be sold. So while you might not think the biz guy is valuable at the start, many of us would think so. Otherwise you'll end up with YAW2ATWF (Yet another web2 app that will fail).

Well, they DID start with a niche, say no to the outside, dominate, then use that domination to leapfrog the competition into the mainstream, exactly how crossing the chasm says to. By design or fluke, it was certainly brilliant.

I second the notion. Read crossing the chasm. What swombat is saying is "find a beachhead, dominate it, then open the platform". Think about facebook and how they dominated one niche then opened it up to everyone else; this model has been u

I play with EEG hacking in my spare time. I was shocked to find out that one of the commercial ones has NO protection circuitry in theirs, and after discussing with their engineer they simply recommended to me that I should unplug the lapto

I like the simulation hypothesis. I love how it "explains" some of the constants we see & quantum physics. I don't see how belief in "the multiverse" is any different than belief in a god or the simulation hypothesis. They all have zero

I respectfully disagree. For what it's worth: The entire yahoo should focus on building a better advertising system than google. I believe they have the tools to do it. Google pushes ads to you by crawling your site and determining what ads
