Shouldn't whether a company CHOOSES to do it be their choice? The law would say yes. I'm betting a bigco will C&D them in the near future if they don't make it company-opt-in.

Perhaps GS could just shut down it's service and redirect all customers with problems or questions to send an email first?

They aren't equivalent, but are similar. I was offended by their business model (pay to get your competitors ads off your support page - wtf) and would never use them for that very reason. I must admit it's a pretty impressive model regardl

It's quite ironic given their business name how unsatisfied many people are with them. I certainly felt this way, but thought there was nothing I could do about it. Thanks Jason I say.

Remember getsatisfaction provides a public front for YOUR company. Why shouldn't they discuss it in the public. They are discussing YOUR business in public, without your permission, and trying to come off as legit.

It would make sense for google to make sure that companies it buys are doing it the google way. I think they have learned from jotspot and jaiku that it is probably better to get in earlier rather than rewrite the entire system to fit on th

Personally I don't think they can. I agree with misappropriation vs copying, but I still feel sad for the content creators. It must suck to put in thousands of hours into something that people love but you can't make money off it.

So you are saying that it's ok to pirate as long as you say "this was made by x, get the original here"? How about considering what the creator of said content wants?

I always find it interesting when articles like this take the stance that piracy is bad, but articles about copying movies/music/game piracy take the opposite stance (piracy is good). Perhaps I am missing something? Content is content, if s

Completely agreed. Go with a universal color like blue. And install awn/metacity by default with a good theme. I use ubuntu as my primary os and can't stand the default look. It looks like a "toy".

I have always thought a good business model for sites like academic earth would be to offer tests (using the many test centers around the world) to users to certify them in certain classes. Kind of like a DIY degree, but verified.
