True if you consider global goods. But for things that are produced within India PPP is relevant. Then again - it doesn't make sense comparing PPP when you are trying to rank economies on size.

You are right. Times of India is not a newspaper you would consider as 'sensible'. They love sensationalism and hyperbole.

To put it really simplistically : From the perspective of everything within India - PPP is what matters; because it takes into consideration the cost of living. But from the perspective of everything outside India - the absolute figure is w

Google did a pretty extensive ad campaign on TV and print in India for Chrome - recently. Maybe that has given them a push. Tough to explain FF's performance though. Surprising.

Incredible to think that I used to walk around this place almost every other day while I was in school. On another note; the kings of the old Travancore (who built this temple) were known for living a very austere life compared to the other

There exists a good middle ground in India too - companies that have some of the advantages that Infosys or TCS offers (like the extra comforts) and the advantages of a start-up working with more modern technologies. Companies like Bosch, S

I have been very impressed by Sublime Text 2 ( http://www.sublimetext.com/2 ). Use it as my primary editor ever since I discovered it.

This is now compulsory for all online transactions in India. Lot of people complain about this saying its one extra step, but for me I don't mind losing a bit of usability if it can add one extra safety net.

Correct. We are doing a PCI compliance certification right now, for a service that does the same CC flow as this. We don't store, but just forward. But even that requires a PCI certification.

Actually it looks quite like Opera in a lot of ways. Even the shading on the buttons on the toolbar. (Windows only, in Linux looks dramatically different.)

I did. (9.10 to 10.04) I lost my graphics driver during the update and when I fixed it my sound card went for a toss. But a clean install of 10.04 solved the problems, so I don't understand why the upgrade can't work without problems.

Agree that having an idea is worth nothing if its not implemented well. But I still find it strange that it never came up in any discussion about Angry Birds. And nobody protested, especially during this season of patent trolls.

Agreed to that and tomkarlo's comment. But I wonder why no one's taking credit for the original idea. With so much publicity for Angry Birds that seems really weird. Almost all of the news posts about Angry Birds praise the team and seems

What I don't understand is how Angry Birds became so popular, but other similar (almost exactly the same) games failed (eg: Crush the Castle). Those games also tackles most of the issues that's talked about in the post.

About the SMS limitation - you got it wrong here, the limit is for sending SMSes with the same text and definitely not for receiving them. There's no limit on the amount of normal SMSes (with different content) you can send in a day. I th
