I was quite suspicious of it when it was first announced, but an open source RE tool is probably the stupidest place to put a backdoor. Author considerations aside, it’s a great tool, and does pretty well with decompiling.

I don’t think a few years is really very long when dealing with an economy of this size. I never expected hyperinflation, just runaway inflation.

Higher than expected by government agencies, obvious to everyone else.

I meant early adopters of cryptocurrency, versus second or third wave newcomers, versus the type of people joining in the last couple years. Each population definitely has their own levels of sophistication and interests by large. As an exa

I still pirate movies sometimes because, due to HDCP, none of the streaming services work with my computer. Unfortunately, all the DVD rental places are gone now, too.

Fixing wealth equality was never a narrative. In fact wealth incentives favoring early adopters were built in day 0. It’s impossible and maddening to keep the “movement” on track in messaging. Every era is less educated technically and care

Only issue is if you live in California and pay yourself you’re still subject to most of the California specific business laws as a company doing business in California, so it’s difficult to escape by incorporating elsewhere.

The wealthy certainly enjoy special tax advantages, but this article should come as no surprise. You pay taxes when you sell your stock. So not selling any stock for a year and not taking a salary means you pay no taxes. That’s just like ev

I don’t think most people understand what they are agreeing to with regards to data sharing or mining. Ethically, burying important aspects in a ToS or privacy policy that you know most people will never read seems pretty wrong, while it ma

I believe in cryptocurrency/blockchain, but your examples illuminate why speculation is far ahead of application. Why would an Uber driver want to auction their time on a blockchain? How would making Airbnb houses NFTs have any advanta

It was estimated to happen in Q1 2019, too. It looks more promising this time but I wouldn’t put much faith in Ethereum timelines.

It’s probably best to address concerns about hyberole and the increasing contrast of language in a neutral forum - for example a blog post unconnected with any particular recent event. The grieving don’t care for the topic and it comes acro

Plenty of people with “serious money” use their cryptocurrency - be it as a currency or for whatever other purpose it was designed. In fact, they probably use it more than the average person since many of them made it from being a crypto de

The pipeline needs to be addressed way, way earlier (schools, community programs) than the point that we’re making black person only blockchains.

I’m not sure we will ever be unhackable, but I think very basic sanity checks throughout these systems should be able to prevent true catastrophe.

It’s a challenge to get enough solar panel area to rely on for charging unless you were camping for a few days every few hundred miles or something. Someday I hope it’s viable but it’s really not a great solution right now compared to ICE.

It sounds like an ICE vehicle is the best fit for you, but also that your needs are quite unique. 99% of even SUV owners are never taking their vehicle backcountry anywhere. A dirt parking lot at a redwoods park an hour out is the most off

You hit the nail on the head. Unless it’s totally virtual - on chain finance, gambling, etc. the contracts are only as good as the oracles. I guess that’s why DeFi works so well. Fortunately decentralized oracles are an area of focus right

The expressed concerns are that people will be spiking people’s drinks with this powder or that they will misjudge while insufflating. Clearly, either of those is quite hard to do with grams and grams of powder.

Considering you’d have to consume grams of this powder to do anything, and alcohol is considered an acceptable compound by most of society, the concerns about powdered alcohol seem irrational.

I don’t believe there is such a requirement. I suppose it depends how deep of an integration you’re imagining. At the no-tech level you can simply have crypto backed redeemable notes - like the old gold standard. There are also things like

I don’t think forbidding access is a great solution, but I do think overall the cumulative choices Apple has made do indeed make a more secure device. I wouldn’t call Samsung “garbage” but I wouldn’t choose to use one either.
