- dan-robertson 5y agoIt still is a real medical intervention used in some emergencies to relieve pressure in the skull
- jkestner 5y agoMy spouse does this. Traumatic brain injuries often lead to swelling/fluid buildup, and if a serious TBI isn’t relieved by a drain or bone flap, the brain can herniate through the base of the skull.
