I like where passwordless.dev is going. However, I don't think I'd like to build a business on top of that. Is there a similar implementation that's open-source that doesn't depend on a third party?

could you share a bit more? Why were you banned? What did they not approve of. As someone who's considered YC, it would be great to know some of this

Congratulations Matt! How did you arrive at the threshold for working on this full-time? Are you sharing ARR/MRR values at this time?

can't wait for the day I'll leave work, get into a self-driving car, watch a movie, have it stop for takeout, sleep as it drives me across the country and then wake up in the morning on the other side of the country ready to start

I think I'll stick to trusting duplicati. I love apple but it's already simple enough to use duplicati, an open source client, to incrementally backup to multiple destinations at pre-defined intervals. Plus you can't always t

For CS math, I'd recommend MIT's 6.042 https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/6-042j-mathematics-for-computer-... They have a book on the course website that's pretty good

As someone who got both degrees from a pretty prestigious US university, this was my reasoning too. I haven't worked a day in Civil Eng since graduation and I don't regret it one bit

refreshing to see a port to a language other than rust for a change. Not saying that rust isn't a good language, just good to see some diversity

very impressive to have such fundamental contributions at such an early age. To even know it's applicability to modern day cryptography is also really impressive. All the best to Daniel Larsen!

Google App Engine has so many problems and is also underinvested in at Google in my opinion. We used it earlier on in a startup we were working on and had so many issues that I would never recommend it to anyone. You'll be much better

this is what I thought too. I've enjoyed working with helm and totally recommend it but was wondering if I'd missed something. A templating language and not an actual programming language seems to be the right balance for config

Had the same exact experience! Just posted a comment. I think could companies have done a good job marketing how cheap it is to get started on cloud. Once things scale, the bills change and it's no longer as cheap to use managed infra.

As a startup founder that's not VC funded, I would totally recommend you look into building with kubernetes from the get go. The biggest learning curve is for the person setting up the initial deployments, services, ingress etc Most ot

I'm with you on this. The world can still house a lot more people and we should stop being worried about the current population. In terms of energy, nuclear. In terms of food, there are still large swaths of un-farmed areas. We can far

+1 having gone through the US immigration system, it doesn't quite work as a reasonable immigrant would think. Before you move, make sure to talk to a US immigration lawyer. The process will be long and painful unless she's moving
