The problem is a behavioural one, not a technological one. Youtubedl is a great technological solution, but does nothing to nullify Google's desire to fight it and enshitten the internet. If every download was accompanied by a request

Not sure what you mean exclusively. It's not meant to replace the web. But I often browse Gemini pages, and many people have capsules that don't have web mirrors.

Having baselines is fine, but they don't have to be annual and they certainly don't need to trigger a barrage of tests which are unnecessary at best and potentially harmful at worst.

A lot of people here are attributing semantics to the article that I don't believe it has claimed. To me this simply reads, "If your application deals with colour, consider your user, and please also consider this standard".

Am I the only one here who thinks the prof's statistical reasoning, which is being waved at as proof, is really, really bad? And I mean, aside from the whole typical fallacy of treating a p-value as a statement on posterior probability

"This problem is unsolvable" or "Approaches X, Y and Z are not solutions to this problem" are perfectly valid and useful contributions to science and society in general. Or in the words of Thomas Edison: “I have not fail

The XY Problem is real, but any literal reference to "The XY Problem" in the context of an answer is typically douchebaggery in disguise.

There are two things that are referred to as "fuzzy logic". The first, is the true fuzzy logic, which consists of Fuzzy Set theory and Fuzzy Measure theory. The two are distinct but interrelated, and heavily mathematical in nature

The only key bindings I added were the ability to scroll up/down single lines, because I find page-scrolling annoying. But other than that, by crap defaults I mostly meant presentational issues. Once you spend a couple of minutes to le

I find a lot of the "X is unhealthy" advice to very pernicious. Because once you examine it, it typically boils down to "well, ok, healthy X is healthy, but unhealthy X is unhealthy", at which point it's a tautology

Lots of good criticisms here, but I'm surprised I haven't seen my main pain point here. My main beef is when a restaurant has no paper menu, and when you attempt to scan the QR code it takes you to a portal, where you have to REGI
