IMO being able to cherry-pick results is pretty interesting in itself. Also, good works tend to come with online demos or even exact parameters — hard to hide your shortcomings when people can reproduce your work.

Curiously, a host of newly created accounts are posting positive comments here. Is this astroturfing?

It is absolutely not common in CV or ML to use such underhanded tricks. Peer review is allergic to it.

Email is fundamentally different from ticketing systems in that the primary goal is communication , though email often serves as an ephemeral database also. With ticketing systems it’s the reverse, communication is incidental instead. Adde

In a sense, it's like asking a classical pianist to "complete this tune", and then start playing Für Elise. They'll almost certainly play the rest of the original tune - as they should!

Nothing prevents rm from being made to “put in trash bin” in the year 2022. Your argument seems weak. rm removes. mv moves. If you want mv, use mv.

Ah yes, the classic `rm --undo` saved me so many times. No, command-line interfaces rarely offer undo. The onus is on the user to not do irreversible things when they may need to be reversed. Git, coincidentally, does have something equival

You shouldn’t present your own opinions as facts. I find Git intuitive, and it works as I expect it to do. I suspect a lot of people agree since Git became the champion of the DVCS crusades.

You can read bits at that rate yes, but keep in mind that it’s 250 GiB /parameters/, and matrix-matrix multiplication is typically somewhere between quadratic and cubic in complexity. Then you get to wait for the page out of your

Fair point, but you’ll still be bounded by disk read speed on an SSD. The access pattern itself matters less than the read cache being << the parameter set size.

These models are not character-based, but token-based. The problem with CPU inference is the need for random access to 250 GiB of parameters, meaning immense paging and orders of magnitude slower than normal CPU operation. I wonder how bad

We can never know what each and every pixel art designer means or intends, simply because there is no single answer. Because of this obvious fact, I offered a common explanation among those designers I know that produced pixel art: that the

That number really says very little if it's not expressed as crashes per distance driven. The article is paywalled, so it's hard to say if the clickbait title is substantiated in the article itself. As always, if the headline soun

True, and pixel art was originally designed for cathode ray tubes. This leads to a funny effect where modern pixel art designers perhaps misunderstand the intended look of actual oldskool pixel art and emulate it anyway. The same is true of

That is completely normal, though. Inflation is not the exact price adjustment of every basket of goods over time, that is simply not possible to represent in a single number - rather, it is some arbitrarily chosen basket of goods meant to

Do you mean to say that other European countries are lying? This proposition seems knee jerk. Inflation can be computed by anyone, so I don’t even understand how you could lie about it.

Using DKIm you don’t actually have the problem that people can buy so-called good domains, because the system works with private and public keys, so not only do you need a good domain, you also need the private key for that specific DKIM in
