This is true to some extent, although certainly SPMD has subgroups and reduction operations on those are fairly common. And you are essentially repeating my point from before, that the fact that an operation among the SIMT threads can be sc

and again, did you even read my reply? You're disagreeing by stating my point back to me. The point about divergence is that IF the threads DONT diverge, you get SIMD scheduling, the GPU can schedule the equivalent of a SIMD OP across

OP did not conflate them, SPMD and SIMT are the same model, they're just used in different contexts.

Are you even reading the text you cite? That compares SIMD to SIMT. SIMD, not SPMD. SIMD is a more restrictive hardware paradigm, SPMD is just a mutiple copies of a single program running on multiple processes/threads, i.e., exactly wh

How can you say that so confidently? Floating point is terrible for decimals, as any number not consisting of only 0's and 5's after the decimal point does not have a precise representation. What if you're counting ratios or

Are the conservative voices advocating for violence against LGBTQ+, ethnic minorities, and critics? Then it's not really hypocrisy but completely valid and according to the policy of most of the platforms.

You're right, it's pretty widespread these days, but in the early 2010s I would have associated it mostly with 4chan culture, although I suppose other communities would have used it as well. I'm not as terminally online anymo

The stock market is not zero sum. The value of a stock going up is not dependent on speculation alone. For most stocks there is an actual underlying asset which generates value in dividends or you get a shareholder vote.

There are several reasons this wouldn't work: 1. How do you check the output of the voice to code step? If you need as much expertise as you do now to actually review the code, then the voice to code step is just a layer that adds conf

I don't think it helps that working a lot of jobs it feels like I've had a negative contribution to human well-being and ecology. I cannot think of a large successful private company that is a net positive to society.

An experiment like OP's would 100% show bias. There weren't multiple researchers, each reader read the exact same paper, but with a different gendered (or non-gendered) name as the author.

Eh, I had the C++ standard library break on unstable a year ago. That's not really acceptable, I'd say unstable is a fair name. There's a few system-breaking changes a year, e.g. gnuplot broke last month.

I'm not saying it's a bad editor, but that it is a rather odd fit with a typical vim or emacs flow. If you're using VScode to debug, you are probably using it as your editor as well.

VSCode is much more than just a debugger, it is a whole environment. It doesn't really feel suitable if you are using a regular Linux development environment.
