Are you seriously claiming that White Brits are not the dominant ethnic group in the UK? Who's running the country? Out of the last twenty PMs, how many have been people of color? One? You seem to love to write QED after a quote. That

That's funny, your own statements are in contradiction with your conclusions. You say the English are descendants of west germanic tribes from the continent, and "Romano-British" groups (do you think the Romans were an Indige

The English are not indigenous to Britain. The best case for an indigenous culture is the Celts, Cornish, and Welsh. None of this has anything to do with being white, it's the language that defines belonging to these groups.

Did you read my post? The AI is just expensive extra component that complicates the flow. Why would I want a chat interface for something that should give me a structured response in a clean table UI with customizable columns.

Omarchy is a thin set of vibecoded shell scripts on top of arch linux, and DHH is a right-wing weirdo. It certainly strikes me as odd that a company like framework would choose to support Omarchy so loudly as they did, and then refuse to co

No, obviously not. I mean having a regular web frontend with a fuzzy search form.

If all this does is give you the data from a contact API, why not just let the users directly interact with the API? The LLM is just extra bloat in this case. Surely a fuzzy search by name or some other field is a much better UI for this.

He links to a wikipedia article and cites a percentage for "native brits". That number on the wikipedia page is for white brits. The only groups who could call themselves indigenous to Britain are the Celts, the Cornish, and the B

You say non-white British citizens are fully integrated undeniably, but somehow you still determine DHH to be data-driven, even though he implies they aren't, by tracking the "White British" ethnic category. You even mention

The OP was me. I pointed out how DHH's uses the term "native brit" to mean "white person" even though that is not the meaning of "native", which means you were born somewhere.

He did imply that brown people are rapists, and that transpeople bad. So he also fits your definition of hateful. In "As I remember London" he also says that crime increases when there are more brown people.

I mean, you're allowed to think an ethnonationalist has a consistent and reasonable worldview. That's absolutely ridiculous but you're free to think it. Nobody's cancelling anyone. But having DHH as a face of your progra

What the hell are you on about. "Native brit" does not identify a people the way "native american" does. There is no entry in the dictionary for "native brit". This is all I'm talking about. Quit trolling.

Yes, they are native to the USA. They aren't native american of course. That's a silly dishonest argument based on wordplay.

If you need a shipping dashboard, then yeah, that's a very common, very simple use-case. Just hook up an API to a UI. Even then I don't think you'll make a very maintainable app that way, especially if you have multiple views

I'm not saying ITER would be a commercial machine, I'm saying the Tokamak design would be viable. Stellarators are interesting, but have been studied much less in comparison.

If you can run ITER for 20 minutes you've essentially proved the Tokamak concept is viable for commercial use.

I'm not sure you do, because expert systems are constraint solvers and LLMs are not. They literally deal in encoded facts, which is what the original comment was about. The universal approximation theorem is not relevant. You would fir

What? The LLM is trained on a corpus of text, and when it is given a sequence of tokens, it finds a set of token that, when one of them is appended, make the resulting sequence most like the text in that corpus. If it is given a sequence of

The original point, that LLMs are plagiarising inputs, is a very common and common sense opinion. There are court cases where this is being addressed currently, and if you think about how LLMs operate, a reasonable person typically sees tha

von Neumann did not invent the von Neumann architecture. Not even a little bit. If you want to reason that the hardware is at fault, you should be blaming the Eckert-Mauchley architecture.

It doesn't really work as a joke if there's no truth to it. I understand what mutually exclusive means. There are no two people writing C++ with no overlapping language features. I struggle to understand what you might even mean.
