It's a bad question. 1. This question just exploits GPT-4's inability to count accurately, which is some combination of how the attention mechanism and tokenization works. But counting isn't reasoning. If you go around the co

There is a huge difference between being correct 50% of the time (like a coin flip) and correct 51% of the time. Because in the second case, you can run the model 10,000 times and the median response will be the correct one at least 97% of

Every paper and comment I've seen that claims "GPT-4 can't reason" is either an example of bad prompting, bad/vague english, or taking advantage of the limitations of tokenization (like asking GPT-4 how many letters

If Google had an opt-in way for authors to get their book indexed that would be fantastic. But the settlement required authors to opt out, and Google made that difficult to do.

Google Books had 'previews' of books that included large swaths of the content. They claimed to only publish this with the author's permission but as I understand it the way that permission was granted was quite sneaky and au

Just some of the problems authors already faced online (I'm related to one): - Google indexing and republishing all of their work for free on Google Books (finally resolved after a huge Class Action suit where the authors were awarded

If you "Look Inside" the offending books on Amazon you can see they have extensive "About the Author" page describing Jane Friedman - so it would be difficult to argue that the books are not trying to trick people into b

So you're suggesting that publishing a hash in a newspaper every day is a better solution than a digital ledger? This is peak buttcoiner logic. That actually used to be done [1], because Blockchain are valuable, but not anymore because

The free version of Jitsi does, yes. I'm self-hosting my own Jitsi instance and was able to configure the quality settings way beyond anything you can get from Zoom or Google Meet. I can have ten people with 30Mbps 4K video streams on

The only reason human communication is ineffective is because it's slow. If an AI can read/write 1000s of words per second there's no reason it shouldn't use natural language to communicate.
