Size is an important factor because the extra crush room allows for more gradual deceleration in a crash. Mass is an important factor because in an inelastic collision, the lighter object will experience greater G-forces.

What I could see fine-tuning being very useful for is efficiency, either getting GPT-4 Level performance out of a smaller model or pruning GPT-4 for your specific needs. After all, if I just want to detect from text what color and brightnes

I had somewhat of a similar experience treating a different condition I had. I wanted to take the scientific approach of taking one supplement at a time and measuring my response, but I ended up taking everything at once, and that worked wo

Potentially. Devs might get up and running with Scratch even faster than Go. But I'm assuming the OP already determined that Go or Clojure would work well for the task. Go probably has a leg up on Clojure for reputation in production p

A 33x in Bitcoin price would put it just above the value of all the world's gold. Obviously not really realistic but if you're a crypto-piller and believe Bitcoin will be the next Gold then it's a decent benchmark moon price.

This ruined Facebook years ago for me and continues to make social media unappealing. I used to open Facebook every day, scroll down to see all my friends' new posts, and then close it once it said "all caught up!" Of course,

It's pretty easy to make a Robinhood wallet these days and start transferring crypto, and it uses Polygon by default. No knowledge of ECDSA required.

You are correct, similar to any other money transfer service it needs to be redeemed somehow. USDC is probably more trustworthy than an individual bank if you own >$250k because of their active treasury management.

Ok, so if it's already copyright infringement then what does writing "permission is not granted" at the bottom of your post do, exactly?

That's not really true of crypto if you consider any chain but Bitcoin and Ethereum. You can send USDC on Arbitrum (an Ethereum L2) for <$0.10, or Polygon for <$0.01. Also, as the article points out, international transfers are s

Why do you think it would be illegal? You can state "permission is not granted to X" on anything you want, but that doesn't mean the law is on your side. Regular rules of copyright still apply. P.S. Permission is not granted

You're correct. I do think login/security is mostly solved if you're OK using Google/GitHub/Apple login. It's the moderation that's a tough part. Many forums end up with over-eager spam filters or captchas

To make this happen, we need better open source forum software. A group of us have been searching for a good self-hosted forum to replace /r/BuyItForLife and have trialed quite a few, but they are just... Really bad.

I've worked with many excellent programmers over 40, some over 70. You might want to look for companies that are run by older folk, and maybe in more established companies. Anecdotally, I haven't seen a lot of 40+ engineers in Sil

However, if you're running a computer with a 16-core CPU, power usage doesn't scale linearly with cores. There's a lot of overhead, especially if you're talking about a laptop/desktop with display, HID, etc.
