IMO, Comic Con has done a pretty fine job at eliminating scalpers. They do this in a few ways: - Random selection over an hour at ticket sale time that is unique per device, with some 'are you human' checks along the way to make i

I agree that sheet music could be improved. The worst part to me is simply that notes are identical symbols just shifted up or down ever so slightly. But based on the screenshots your app does the same thing, just side to side. I think it w

I find myself just typing random combinations of the letters that sound vaguely English because the game's vocabulary is much larger than mine. For example I got "minge" which is apparently British slang for vagina but I'

I'm surprised by the figure that 23 million people hold NFTs. That's pretty impressive considering the clunky user experience. I'm not a big fan of NFTs but I'm pretty happy with my one NFT that got dropped free to users

I can't vouch for the veracity of this story, but an older engineer who worked on a particle accelerator once told me this story from the 1980s: The particle accelerator would start overheating every day right after lunch time. They ev

Interesting. The article doesn't say why the pilot ejected. If the jet were able to continue flying for hours in autopilot, maybe the pilot ejected a bit prematurely, no? Though it it continued flying I would expect it to be on ADS-B.

It's great that AT&T offers static IPs, but I should charge them about $600 for my time because it took me 3.5 hours of playing games with the automated support line and explaining to their tech support what static IP addresses are

My entire family has been geo-tracking each other since the early 2000's when my Dad got his hands on some early tech through his work. Never once has it been used in a toxic or controlling way. It's great for peace of mind or fig

Interesting they didn't include Aptos in their testing, given it came out of Diem it seems like it would be best suited for this use case.

They would get an immediate benefit from using an LLM for intent recognition - i.e. knowing that a user wants to search or set a timer, etc. Current Siri is really bad at this. I'm sure even a fine-tuned Llama 7B would be a massive imp

The formula for the Kelly criterion is f = p - q/b. If you plug in the odds of the recent record-setting mega millions draw, which was EV positive, f is 2E-9, which means it's Kelly-optimal to buy 1 ticket for every billion dolla

Could be interesting for liquidity position NFTs, delegating the role of rebalancer / manager to someone else. Maybe they can build it into UniV4 :) it would sure make things like Arrakis a bit simpler.
